We needed to bring our rescue dog Alex, a Catahoula Leopard mix, to a 24-hour hospital tonight because of lethargy and difficulty breathing. He is Heartworm positive and his current condition may be the result of that disease. Alex is a sweet dog despite having had a hard life. He came to the shelter significantly underweight with a chain in embedded in his neck. City Dogs Rescue received an urgent plea from another rescue group because he was scheduled to be put down and no other rescue could take in a dog of his size. We wanted to give this poor guy a chance so we rescued him and his brother, Dexter, just in time. We are hoping he will get better that so we can place him in a permanent, loving home. Unfortunately, we are looking at at least $2200 in urgent vet care expenses. If you are able, please consider contributing through the "Chip-In" at http://citydogsrescuewdc.chipin.com/fund-for-alex to help us pay for this care. Thank you. Add Comment |
