Adopt: Thomas the Sophisticated Senior Lab

Cuddly companion Thomas has the right idea when it comes to rest and relaxation! His favorite thing to do is sleep! Whether he does so in the yard, on the patio, nestled into cushions on the couch or in his beloved dog bed. This smart guy knows that when he is soaking up the sun and getting some shut-eye it is the perfect time for his fosters to give him a good head scratch and belly rub!

Picture
Thomas's intelligence doesn't stop at knowing the most successful way to play with his fosters' heart strings and achieve endless pets; he was also able to arrange his own rescue while he was a stray in West Virginia! He caught the attention of a foster family, and they just couldn't help but assure that this gentle-mannered and sophisticated male was well taken care of and on his journey to find his forever family.

Thomas may have a grey muzzle, but don't let that fool you! He has the curiosity and zest for life that keeps him up to exploring new adventures on his walks with his foster. He will stop to smell flowers, and take little breaks to sweetly lick his foster's CDR alum, Jake's nose.

Picture
Thomas loves other dogs! The CDR alum, Jake, that he currently lives with is 13 and is not always as excited to play as Thomas is, but that doesn't keep Thomas from loving Jake's company! Thomas will do great with another dog to cuddle and care for in his forever home.

He respects boundaries: just another gentlemanly trait that he possesses! He lives with a grumpy kitty. At first, Thomas was interested in the cat, but the cat felt differently and now Thomas respects her wishes by keeping three feet between them at all times! If the cat was more accepting of the wonderful Thomas you would surely find them snuggled up together near a sunny window, or getting tandem belly rubs from their people!

Picture
Since Thomas is such a chill and low maintenance guy at home, he may get a little worked up on walks when he sees bicycles or cars speed past. His fosters are working with him to be less leash reactive so that he can enjoy more relaxing walks. His nerves, however don't stop him! He still loves both short and long walks in the neighborhood. Even knowing that he may get upset by zooming vehicles Thomas braves the streets so that he will have the opportunity to put his nose into some flower beds and smell some roses.

Picture
Thomas is one extremely cool, and sophisticated man! He is not needy but will gladly take any and all attention and love spread his way! He is also respectful of boundaries and space and will be completely content curling up on the porch while you read a good book. He is sweet and caring with other animals and would surely be great with children of any age as well because he is not aggressive or a jumper.

Thomas will make any family feel like they didn't know what they were doing without him this whole time! He is sure to make you very happy with his gentle manners and big heart.
As a senior dog Thomas is available for a reduced senior adoption fee of $200. Visit City Dog Rescue’s website to apply to meet this sweet fellow!
